Mount Baker Mountaineering Summit Program

The four and a half day, public Mt. Baker North Ridge Alpine Skills & Climb program is designed to introduce mountaineers into the exciting world of alpinism, while experiencing the culture of the Pacific Northwest. Our program is a uniquely curated offering, run with smaller group climbs to increase safety and improve your experience.  This is a guided alpine-ice adventure with a focus on learning the fundamental skills of alpine ice climbing on glaciated peaks. These skills include:

• Vertical ice - tool and crampon use

• French Technique for steep snow

• Technical pitched-climbing

During our trip, you will also be exposed to additional topics pertaining to mountaineering, such as: navigation, glaciology, weather, packing light, and on route bivouacs. The final day of this program we will make a summit attempt of Mount Baker via the North Ridge.
